Umuada Productions is a multimedia company committed to making African stories accessible, engaging, and culturally resonant for audiences across generations through graphic novels, film and television, podcasts, and thoughtfully crafted merchandise. Our mission is to encourage women of African descent – and, by extension, broader communities – to explore identity, heritage, and creativity in an invasively Western world.
Umuada Productions was born from a lifelong desire to understand and connect with culture. Named after the umuada – a respected collective of village women known for their wisdom, collaboration, and authority – the company embodies this same spirit. We work collectively, hold ourselves to the highest standards, and remain uncompromising in our pursuit of excellence.
To produce impactful, thought-provoking, and visually stunning content across film, television, graphic novels, and podcasts that will encourage women of African descent to explore a sense of identity in an invasively Western world.
